"Salubong Festival"

       Salubong Festival is one of the popular events in Plaridel, Bulacan,
celebrating at the poblacion every 29th of December for honoring Santiago
Apostol as their patron saint. The festival was known and joined by the
celebrities each year. The festival was presented with the parade of horses.
   

       Plarideleños believe that Santiago Apostol was a spanish who loves to ride
in his horse. He is one of the against to the wrongdoings of spanish in the
Philippines and he joined the fight for the rights of Filipinos. He died in the
midst of battle. After his death, there are some rumor that they see Santiago
 Apostol alive. And he still joining and visiting the festival of Plaridel.   
      They start the festival with a mass, then preceding of a parade of different
horses with different colors and designs of their own chariot. The parade was
from sipat to poblacion led by the band and dancers from different barangays of
Plaridel including the adults, older, teenagers and childrens. They also have list
of activities to be done for their celebration, like competitions for the street
dance held at the San Diego Gym for high school students and elementary
 pupil of Plaridel.

       Last year the festival was joined by RC Muñoz, Edgar Allan De Guzman
and Derick Monasterio during the parade and they been the jury for some
activities with Mayor Jocell Vistan Casaje, mayor of Plaridel.
